Resume - Fall 2025

Mason Moss is a music director, conductor, and keyboardist based in Evanston, Illinois. Known for his versatility and precision, he works across Broadway tours, regional theatre, and new musical development throughout the Chicago area.

​

He is currently the Associate Music Director and Piano/Conductor for As You Like It at Writers Theatre in Glencoe (November 7 – December 21, 2025). Earlier this year, he served as Music Director and Piano/Conductor for Sunny Afternoon at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, the U.S. premiere of the Olivier Award–winning musical, which earned a Jeff Award nomination for Music Direction.

Recent credits include Wake the Dead and The Spectral Sisters at Six Flags Fright Fest, Tina: The Tina Turner Musical (Broadway in Chicago), 42 Balloons (Chicago Shakespeare Theater, U.S. premiere), and Always Something There... (Marriott Theatre, world premiere).

From 2022 to early 2025, Mason was Music Director and Conductor for the North American tour of The Book of Mormon, leading more than 600 performances across the United States and Canada under the supervision of Stephen Oremus and Justin Mendoza. The production cemented his reputation as a steady, detail-oriented leader capable of guiding large-scale professional ensembles.

A native of Rock Island, Illinois, Mason studied Music Education and Jazz Piano at Western Illinois University. He is a proud member of the Chicago Federation of Musicians (AFM Local 10-208) and an active part of the city’s theater and live music community. His mentors and collaborators include Stephen Oremus, Andrew Graham, Justin Mendoza, and Elliott Ware.

Through Moss Music Services, Mason offers music direction, conducting, arranging, orchestration, programming, and educational clinics nationwide. His work reflects a commitment to clear communication, collaborative artistry, and high musical standards in every setting.
